Joint Ventures of IUK
All lessons are conducted on western education standards at the IUK-credit hours system. The IUK students have opportunity to transfer from second and third year to the universities of the USA and Europe. The IUK is a member of the world Association for of Universities and Colleges (WAUC), Association of European Universities (EUA), European Association for International Education (EAIE), Global Alliance for Transnational Education (Gate), Federation Of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW), International Association of Universities under . ERNATIONAL School of MedicineThe IUK was awarded with International Gold Quality Star 2001, founded by the BID (Business Initiatives Directions )-organization, which during the many years selects companies and institution with strong activity and business, leadership, new technologies implementation and innovation. In 2001 the IUK has entered to the list of 30 best Universities of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The IUK is a main organization in creation of Virtual Academy of European and Central Asian countries and jointly implements educational projects of the Institute of Distance Learning, the World bank. The UNESCO Institute on new information Technologies in Education conducts educational and research work at the IUK. Bureau for Intergovernmental Program on Computer Science approved creating in IUK the Virtual Academy. In 2003 the UNESCO created A Chair “Sustainable Mountain development”. As a result of the joint project with University of Karlstad (Sweden) we joine Transformation System (ECTS). The IUK offers Programs on International Business, diplomas of which meets the standards of the ECTS with recognizing of the IUK's diploma in the states of the EU. The IUK has qualified and professional staff and faculty. The IUK faculty members have gone through training at San Francisco State University of Karlstad (Sweden), University of Hanover (Germany), Arnhem Business School (the Netherlands), the University of laplandia (Finland), Tohoku University (Japan), Central European University (hungary), University of Bern, (Switzerland), Salem International University (USA) and other Leading world academic institutions. There are four Higher Schools (HS), five institutes and two colleges, seven scientific research institutes at the IUK which offer undergraduate and graduate programs in different fields:
Kyrgyz Government's resolution # 60 dated February 5, 2004 introduced ISM into IUK, which is one of Kyrgyz Republic top universities highly rated for its substantial experience in training of foreign citizens. The ISM has been the first one in Kyrgyz Republic to teach medicine both in Russian and English since 2001. This higher educational institution is to ensure maximum opportunities for those who want become doctors and work in any place of the globe. At present the school has more than 100 student from Central and South Asia.
General Medicine (MD 5 years English)The program intended for citizens of the British Commonwealth countries is designed in compliance with the British system of Medical education. The International University of Kyrgyz Republic (IUK) was created in March 1993 by a decree of President of the Kyrgyz Republic (State license a AL #039) that gave the University a status of international higher education institution. The founders of the IUK are the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Academy of Sciences and San Francisco State University. In short period of time the IUK awards has become one of the leading higher education institutions of Kyrgyz Republic and Central Asian region. The IUK awards diplomas of state standard. The Kyrgyz-Russian Institute for Distance Learning was created jointly with Modern Humanitarian
University in Moscow under auspices of the intergovernmental committee on knowledge propagation in CIS. Graduates of this Institute get diplomas for Higher Education of Kyrgyz Republic and Russian Federation. The Kyrgyz-Indian Institute for Distance Learning was Created
jointly with Indira Gandhi National Open University (India). Also there were created European Resource Center (IUK-Arnhem Business School, the Netherlands), American Resource Center
(IUK-University of Michigan, USA), Education Information Resource Center (IUK-Bern University, Switzerland), Regional Academy of CISCO, International Telecommunication Union, Center of Higher Education Institute integration to the Bologna process (IUK-EU).
INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF MEDICINE (ISM, 2003)-An international higher educational institution is a structural unit of IUK created to train medical specialists for foreign countries, conduct medical research in cooperation with leading health centers of the world and provide high quality medical services to the population of Central Asia. ISM was established on a special resolution of the Kyrgyz Government to cover education markets in Europe, Asia and Africa and train doctors in line with up-to-date programs that meet international training standards and requirements in different regions of the world.
